Recess Reset video lessons are designed as "read-alouds" in which adults actively guide video lessons with their own voices while students actively practice various self-regulation and self-awareness strategies. Recess Reset is designed to be used as a daily class transition routine between recess/lunch and instruction time to help students settle and refocus. Recess Reset is designed to be used for PreK, Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, SPED K-2, and SPED 3-5. The curriculum is broken down into 3 Levels and 18 Units. Each grade level begins at Level One, Unit #1: Mindful Breathing, and continues sequentially through the curriculum, stopping at each grade's developmental edge. Level One practices simple strategies that all ages can follow and benefit from. Level Two introduces more complex ideas and strategies. Lessons can be embedded through shareable links into Google Slides as a part of the normal flow of the teacher's lesson plan.Teachers, parents and care-givers, counsellors, and support staff may opt to login to Recess Reset through a student tablet and guide a video lesson. This is a perfectly good secondary use of the product, but not the main use case.

Recess Reset accounts are intended for adults, including teachers, resource specialists, counsellors, occupational therapists, school psychologists, support staff, afterschool staff, administrators, parents and care-givers. Students do not create or manage individual Recess Reset accounts.​Schools and districts may designate authorized staff to administer access for their organization.

No. Students do not need a Recess Reset account to participate. Recess Reset is designed for teacher-led and adult-led use in classrooms and at home.​Children do not create usernames, use student email addresses, log in individually, upload work, or submit personal information to use Recess Reset. This allows schools and families to provide students with Recess Reset activities without requiring individual student profiles.
